If you feel you can lend your talents to any of our committees or would like to offer time to help our efforts, please click here and let us know how you can help!
- Collect and compile regional data on financial resources available and received for homelessness work, services, shelters, programs, data on policy changes on housing, programs and services
- Help renovate/paint/repair a shelter, transitional housing, or supportive housing unit
- Work in a collaborative manner to develop a database to manage data/pull reports by geography, homeless populations served, eligibility, etc.

- Organize a benefit dinner for Journey Home
- Become a fan of Journey Home on Facebook. Post on other friends’ walls about Facebook. Post on Journey Home’s fanpage.
- Write a Wikipedia page for Journey Home.
- Develop community and church partnerships
- Write Journey Home news stories, editorials, anecdotal stories, volunteer stories, and donor stories and publish them on website and facebook
- Develop an online educational event to attract traffic to website and social media, create prepared and live video clips, perhaps around a volunteer event
- Research best practices/policies/opportunities for replication, federal trends, new and standard methodologies on homelessness work
- Host a meal at a shelter during a weeknight on at least an annual basis.
- Furnish a unit of permanent supportive housing with furniture and basic household commodities.
- Become a Companion to at least one individual who has been identified as chronically homeless and/or vulnerable and is staying in a shelter.
- Commit to house and/or provide professional ongoing case management services for an individual who has been identified as chronically homeless and/or vulnerable.
- Participate in Journey Home’s survey events that help measure progress towards ending homelessness and document the needs of the homeless population and those at risk of becoming homeless that will inform our work as well as public policies.
- Perform needs assessment of non-profit organizations, government agencies, foundations, and supporting churches
- Help organize an Advisory Council for Journey Home
- Help cultivate donations for Journey Home’s innovative initiatives
- Help Journey Home to educate others about the systemic challenges of homelessness that need collaborative solutions by:
- Connecting Journey Home with friends or relatives at other organizations or churches that might be interested in this kind of work.
- Helping Journey Home collect the stories of how individuals become homeless and develop a promotional video for Journey Home.
- Introducing Journey Home to someone you know in the media.
- Getting advertising space donated.
